Why is my UNC path (network path) not available?

Problem​

When you try to open file-links from your BOC product you might receive the following error: "The link could neither be opened nor copied to the clipboard. Please check your browsers security settings. Additional information on this error might be available in the browser console."

 

Solution​

This problem happens, when file-links point to UNC paths (internal network locations). Modern webbrowsers prohibit access to files on UNC paths due to security concerns.

To avoid such issues, we recommend to host files on local webservers and reference them via URLs (HTTPS links).
