What is the "Base URL" needed for?

This article applies exclusively to BOC products in your own infrastructure (on premise). For BOC Cloud (SaaS) deployments, the base URL is set automatically during provisioning and should not be modified unless explicitly advised by BOC Support.​


Your base URL specifies the address at which your BOC product (ADONIS, ADOIT, ADOGRC) can be accessed. Since it is used as a reference in several places—for example, when creating links to objects and models—correct configuration is essential for proper operation.

 

How do I set the "Base URL"?

Web-Client

This guide applies to ADONIS 16, ADOIT 17, and ADOGRC 13 and later versions. For instructions applicable to earlier versions, please click here.

Solution steps  
Open your Administration Page and go to Settings.

Click on System Settings (1), then on System (2)

Enter the Base URL (3), making sure to use the correct syntax as described below.

Lastly, confirm by clicking Save (4).

 

Rich-Client

These instructions apply to versions prior to ADONIS 16, ADOIT 17 and ADOGRC 13. For instructions that apply to later versions, please click here.

Solution steps  
Open your Administration Toolkit and go to Library Management.

Click the Component Settings tab (1), then Web Client (2), and lastly System (3).

Enter the base URL (4), making sure to use the correct syntax as described below.

Finally, click OK (5) to confirm.

 

Syntax (only OnPrem)​

Enter the URL in the following syntax: http://<SERVER_NAME>:<TOMCAT_PORT>/<PRODUCT_SUFFIX>/

  • <SERVER_NAME> is the name or the IP address of the web server.
  • <TOMCAT_PORT> is the HTTP/1.1 connector port defined during setup, under which Apache Tomcat (and thus also the web client) can be reached.
  • <PRODUCT_SUFFIX> is the part of the URL that identifies your BOC product (ADONIS, ADOIT, ADOGRC). Usually it is the product and version number (e.g. ADONISNP11 or ADONIS14_1).
