BOC product fails post TLS adjustments

Problem​

You have raised the global security policy for the TLS (Transport Layer Security) standard on your system to 1.2. Now your BOC product does not start anymore. Among other entries, your log files show the following error:

DB-Errorcode: 18
DB-Errorstate: 08001
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SSL Security error
Context: Session::Connect (Old credentials)
DB: (SQLServer)

Solution​

Your ODBC Driver is outdated and does not support modern TLS standards (1.2 and higher). Please update your SQL Native Client or ODBC driver.
