Why can`t I change the password of system users March 15, 2026 13:12 Updated ScenarioI want to change the password of a User, however, I am not able to do so because the password field in the User Management of my BOC Product cannot be edited. What is the difference between a Standard User and a System User?A standard user is manually created within Administration of your BOC Product and represents a regular user with login credentials, while a system user is imported from an Active Directory (LDAP/SSO) without personalized manual setup. Changing Password of System UsersIt is not possible to change the password of system users within a BOC Product because these accounts are linked to the Active Directory (AD). The password field is therefore grayed out in the Administration Site. Password management and authentication happen centrally in AD, so password changes must be done there, not inside the BOC Product. How can I check if a User is a System User? Step Description Picture 1 Open the Administration of your BOC Product 2 Click on Users to open the User page 3 Use the Search function (1) to find the affected user. Check the Column System User (2). Yes = User is a System User No = User is a standard User More information regarding Manual user administration can be found here.
