How do I change the languages in my BOC product?

To use your BOC product in a language other than the one originally ordered, you must purchase a new license for the new language. Please contact your account manager to request the desired language license.

If a different existing language should be shown to users by default at login, you can adjust the values ADOXX_WEB_CLIENT_LANGUAGE and ADOXX_WEB_CLIENT_SHOW_LANG_SELECTION in your configuration:

Adding a language​

A language can be added by importing a new license file and restarting the services of the BOC product. To request such change, please contact your customer account manager to initiate the required steps.

Changing the primary language​

The main language serves as both default and fallback for your repository content.

The primary language cannot be changed in an existing database. To change the primary language, you must migrate the existing data to a newly created database, that has been given the desired primary language during creation. If the existing license does not yet include the new language, this must be adapted by your customer advisor.

Changing the primary language is a complex procedure. We recommend not taking any actions before contacting your customer account manager. Changing the primary language is a paid service.

Removing a language​

To remove a language, a new license file is required and the existing data must be migrated to a new database. However, it should be noted that removing a language may result in data loss if the data is not properly maintained.

Additional information​

  • Modifying languages is not a standard procedure. A maintenance window to restart the services is required.
  • Before any changes are made, it is important to back up the database.
