To split a file with 7-zip, carry out the following steps:

1	Make sure that you have installed 7-zip on your computer. If the programme is missing, please contact your local IT department for assistance.
2	Navigate to the folder that contains the file you want to split. Right-click on the file.
3	Select the 7-zip option in the context menu and then click on Add to archive...
4	You can make various settings in the window that opens. Archive format: Select the desired format (e.g. ZIP or 7z). Split into volumes: Enter the size for the individual parts in the "Split to volumes, bytes" field. Example: Enter "10M" to divide the file into parts of 10 megabytes each.
5	Click OK to start the process. 7-zip will split the file into the specified parts and save them in the same folder.
6	Check the folder to ensure that the file has been successfully split. You should see several files with the specified volume format.
