Why am I unable to create new models? May 19, 2026 06:40 Updated I would like to create new models and/or objects; however, I am unable to do so because the "+ New" button is not available in my BOC product.Solution 1: Wrong scenarioFirst, make sure that you are in the correct scenario. You can only create new models and/or objects in the "Design & Document " scenario. If this scenario is not available, please check Solution 2. For further information regarding scenarios in your BOC product, please consult: ADONIS/ADOGRC Administration Manual ADOIT Administration Manual Solution 2: Check User RightsThis guide applies to ADONIS 16, ADOIT 17, and ADOGRC 13 and later versions. Please verify whether the user has been assigned the "Design & Document" role (in ADONIS/ADOGRC) or the "User" role (in ADOIT). Detailed instructions on how to check user role assignments can be found in the Manual user administration.Depending on your license type, you may need to assign Named use licenses to users. If you are unsure whether you have a named use or concurrent use licence, please log into your Administration Page. Steps Description 1 Click on More options (1). 2 A side bar will appear, click on License overview (2). 3 In the License Overview, you can view how many concurrent use licenses or named use licenses you have. If there are only zeros in the "Named use" column, you have a concurrent use licence and do not need to assign licences to users. If you have named use licences, please assign the "Design & Document" licences to the users as described in this FAQ: Manual user administration. Finally, check whether the user can now create models and/or objects. If you are still experiencing issues, please refer to Solution 3.Solution 3: Assigned Organisation Portal RoleThis guide applies to ADONIS 16, ADOIT 17, and ADOGRC 13 and later versions.Check, if the user(s) who cannot create new models, have the "Organisation Portal" role assigned to them. Please log into your Administration Page. Steps Description 1 Navigate to User Management. Click the three dots (1) next to the User facing the issue and click on Edit (2). 2 Switch to the Groups and Roles (3) tab and check under System roles (4) if Organisation Portal is assigned. 3 To remove the Organisation Portal role, click the X (5) next to it and then click on Update (6). The "Organisational Portal" system role should typically be allocated based on the “either/or” principle. This implies that a user should either have the "Organisational Portal" role exclusively, or not have it at all if they have been assigned other roles.Should you require further support, please consult your customer account manager or contact the BOC technical support.
